Versatility & Prayers

There are some timeless songs that will always inspire us, no matter how long ago we've heard it, nor how many times. They range from making you cry of sadness, to smiling with confidence. I find that they are also very versatile, and can be interpreted differently each time you listen, depending on the situation and of course, the listener. It could be going in and out of love, dreams that you have or had, the difficulties you've faced or simply to feel good about yourself. But the most facinating of all, is that I find they can also be used for personal worship. Yea, sounds strange doesn't it? But it works, to me at least.

May you trust God that you are
exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has
been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle
into your bones, and allow your soul
the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

Because it is there
for each and every one of us.

Thanks Keith! This prayer goes back to you by the way, just not through e-mail.

I am a mountain
I am a tall tree
I am a swift wind
Sweeping the country
I am a river
Down in the valley
I am a vision
And I can see clearly
If anybody asks u who I am
Just stand up tall look them in the face and say

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the worlds greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my backs against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the worlds greatest

I am a giant
I am an eagle
I am a lion
Down in the jungle
I am a marching band
I am the people
I am a helping hand
And I am a hero
If anybody asks u who I am
Just stand up tall look them in the face and say

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the worlds greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my backs against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the worlds greatest

In the ring of life I'll reign love
And the world will notice a king
When all is darkest, I'll shine a light
And use a success you'll find in me

I saw the light
At the end of a tunnel
Believe in the pot of gold
At the end of the rainbow
And faith was right there
To pull me through, yeah
Used to be locked doors
Now I can just walk on through
It's the greatest
I'm that star up in the sky

World's Greatest, R. Kelly

There's a hero If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Hero, Mariah Carey

I have often dreamed, of a far off place
Where a heros welcome, would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying, this is where I'm meant to be

I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, if I can be strong
I know every mile, will be worth my while
When I go the distance, Ill be right where I belong

Down an unknown road, to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime, but somehow I'll see it through

And I wont look back, I can go the distance
And Ill stay on track, no, I wont accept defeat
Its an uphill slope, but I wont lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete

But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero's strength is measured by his heart

Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its harms
I dont care how far, I can go the distance
Till I find my heros welcome, waiting in your arms

Go The Distance, Michael Bolton

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray to the Lord my soul to keep
And if I die before I awake
I pray to the Lord my soul to take

Good night.
